All That Glitters - Crafty Boots Challenge DT Project

Hey hey all you crafty people......

I can't help but feel a little brighter posting the design team card I have done for Crafty Boots Challenges 'All That Glitters' theme.

Here is the card..

I used this sweet image from the Polka Doodles Sundae of Season CD.  I had originally colored her for a rainbow challenge (but I let the week get away from me and didn't manage to put a card together for that challenge).  I thought she would be perfect to create a colorful, fun, glittery card so I decided to use her for this DT card.  She is colored with Pro Markers and I made the sentiment strip using doCrafts Digital Designer.  I thought of hugs with the girls outstretched arms, so I wanted the sentiment to include them.

Okee dokee, that is about all I have for now.  Don't forget to pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and join in the 'All That Glitters' challenge with your lovely creations.

p.s.  You should also check out the current challenge at Just Inspirational Challenges.

Tatty Teddy Birthday Card and some news!

Hey everyone!

I can now announce that I have been accepted on another design team.   I am now part of the great group of crafty folks over at Just Inspirational Challenges.   I will be joining in on next week's challenge, but pop over for this weeks challenge too, which is Inspired by Steam Punk with an optional sketch.

Now, as promised, here is a bit of Tatty Teddy.

I made this using docrafts digital designer.  I don't tend to do a lot of cards without stamps or some form of coloring, but this one just came together just the way I liked it using elements from ddd.

Thanks for looking, and as always, comments are very much appreciated.

Take care and happy crafting.

Forever Friends Classic Christmas

I know it is getting down to the wire, but there is still time for a few more cards!

This one is for Gracie's groomer, who has the patience of a saint to get Gracie looking so pretty.  She (Gracie) can be a bit of a pickle when getting combed and brushed!

Anyway, I realised last night that I hadn't done the card for the groomer (Jackie at Adorapaws).  As I often do in a pinch, I turned to docrafts Digital Designer!

Here is the card.

I used the Forever Friend Retro Christmas CD and chose one of the preset decoupauge scenes.  A bit of cutting, gluing (with pinflair), matting and layering, and viola!

The image is so sweet (as are all the forever friends images), and although this isn't for any challenges or anything, I thought it deserved a place on my blog.

Best Wishes for a very Merry Christmas!

xx Denise

p.s.
As often happens, Lily decided she wanted to inspect the card very closely to ensure it meets her quality standards!

Forever Friends Christmas

If you are looking for the Crafty Boots Blog Hop, you are in the right place...so please just click here.

Ok, for a change.... card first, blather after.

Forever Friends Retro / Traditional

Without being a 'downer', many of you know I am currently having some serious issues with my back which has made my life in general, as well as my crafting a bit of a challenge.  The doctor has recommended that I try to keep moving around as much as possible, and considering that at the moment my lounge and dining room are essentially mini (or perhaps not so mini) craft supply rooms, I thought I could try to go through a little each day to cull out what won't be needed or used before Christmas (or at all).  This way we might actually be able to put up the Christmas tree IN the house.

Today I went for going through stacks of papers and I came across a pile of artwork that I had either printed or colored at some point.  I do this all the time, so I suspect there may be a few more similar entries (for cards made from 'found' elements that got so deep into the middle of paper stacks that I forgot about them).

Anyway, I came across these forever friends characters from Forever Friends Retro Christmas CD using docrafts Digital Designer.  I printed three of each - obviously with the intention of decoupaging them.    I did just that, then layered a 5x5 square card with patterned and textured papers.  The die cut Merry Christmas was purchased on line as it is.  (I have been trying to find out where to buy the die to cut them myself, but to date I have had no such luck!)

I wanted to keep this one relatively simple, but since every Christmas Card needs a little glitz I added the crystal stars.

I do think this card meets the criteria for a few challenges, so I would like to enter it in :

Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog - Sundae Bar Toppings (Red and die cut)
ends Sat 10 December
Pollycraft Monday - Challenge #120 - Christmas Fun
ends approx 21 December
The Crafty Bloggers Network - Challenge 5 - Shades of Winter
ends 10 December

Willow Sketchie Challenge - Anything Goes
end 7 December

Please feel free to leave any comments (even constructive criticism).  I am always striving to improve techniques and am still developing my style so I am open to input from everyone.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a very happy and healthy holiday season!

Teddy Bear Christmas

I had a bit of trouble deciding what to name this post, because I couldn't decide what the predominant feature of the card is.  I ultimately went with the teddy bear because he is such a cutie pie.

I used a die cut topper, a red mirror board layer and a textured gold card layer.  The poinsettia's are from My Craft Studio paper flower expert.  I heat embossed them for the shine and added a flower shaped 'gem' for the center of each.  The sentiment is from one of the docraft Digital Designer Christmas CDs, though I am not sure which one.  I tend to print stuff for 'later' and sometimes by the time I use it I have forgotten exactly where it came from!

I hope you like it....and as always, thanks for looking and thanks for the comments.

Take care and happy crafting

Tatty Teddy with Poinsettias

Here is another creation that I have been working on.  I used the docrafts Digital Designer with the Tatty Teddy CD rom as well as images from the PMA Christmas Past CD rom to put the image together, including the sentiment.

Tatty Christmas Wishes

Tatty is coloured using Letraset Flex Markers.  The poinsettias are coloured with promarkers.  After colouring I cut the images out, and went over the sentiment using a green wink of stella marker.  I used a Papermania patterned paper for the backing behind the poinsettia wreath, and some red glitter card for the layer underneath.

I am really looking forward to seeing what else I can come up with using the digital designer and Tatty Teddy.  He is one of my favourite characters!

I would like to enter this card in:
Totally Papercrafts Challenge - Christmas in August
Colour Create Challenge - Blue, Green, White, Red and Brown

and as a second entry in:
Christmas Crafting - Cute Christmas

Thanks for looking!  I know I say this every time, but I hope you like the card, and I would absolutely love to hear any comments (good or bad).

Take care and happy crafting!
