All That Glitters - Crafty Boots Challenge DT Project

Hey hey all you crafty people......

I can't help but feel a little brighter posting the design team card I have done for Crafty Boots Challenges 'All That Glitters' theme.

Here is the card..

I used this sweet image from the Polka Doodles Sundae of Season CD.  I had originally colored her for a rainbow challenge (but I let the week get away from me and didn't manage to put a card together for that challenge).  I thought she would be perfect to create a colorful, fun, glittery card so I decided to use her for this DT card.  She is colored with Pro Markers and I made the sentiment strip using doCrafts Digital Designer.  I thought of hugs with the girls outstretched arms, so I wanted the sentiment to include them.

A little Polkadoodles Quickie

Hey everyone.  Polkadoodles introduced a 1 day twitter challenge for fellow tweeters to submit a card using a free digi-image.  I thought I would give it a try and see what I could come up with.

Here it is:

The purple backing paper if from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons CD.  The green backing paper is textured and is from a pack that I honestly can't remember buying (or therefore where I bought it)  The image was a freebie from Polkadoodles specifically for this challenge (THANKS).

I colored the image and the background with promarkers.  The butteryfly and the large flower were traced onto parchment and outline embossed. Using gold sparkle glue to attach the butterfly ended up giving it a nice effect under the parchment.  The flower was attached using a yellow polka dot brad.

The sentiment was from a fabric card kit that I got AGES ago from C&C.  Then I thought, hmmmm, it needs a little something more.  I decided on the sequins in blue at the top and in green at the bottom. 

Anyway, this was an unexpected quickie that I thought I would share with you all.  If you want to follow Nikki on twitter she is @Polka_doodles .  She is a real laugh and one of the nicest tweeters there are!

Candy Canes and Snowflakes

Hi everyone.  Please forgive me in advance for any typo's / strange comments in this post as I am riding the diazepam train due to severe back muscle spasms.  In trying to follow the doctor's orders and move around a bit, I thought doing a card / blog post would be good.

This card was inspired by the Anything Goes Challenge Blog, Challenge 54 - A Real Sweetie

The Candy Canes are from the Polka Doodles Sundae of Seasons CD.  The coloring was done with Pro Markers.  I used a patterned paper (the green with the snowflakes) and a silver mirror board pre-cut 'frame'.  I added a few white snowflake stickers and a pre-printed sentiment... and viola!

Penny Black Christmas Volume 2

Last week's challenge was such good fun I decided to see what I could come up with for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge :  The theme is "Gold and Presents".

Penny Black Gold and Present Christmas

I am such a huge fan of Penny Black's kitty cats, so they will surely be making repeated appearances in my blog I am sure!  This particular kitty is from the 'It's Your Day' set.   I did hte colouring with flex markers and there is also some embossing on the presents using glitter embossing powder and pearl iridescent powder.

I hope you like it, and if not...all constructive feedback is welcome.  I am still rather new at this card making stuff, so I am always happy to hear what people think (good or bad).

Blue Christmas

This card is one that will hopefully give a different meaning to 'blue christmas'. 

I used the tree stamp from the Polka Doodles Christmas Fun clear stamp set and coloured it using promarkers.  I distressed around the tree with green and blue distress ink.  The snow on the tree and the ground is flower soft pearl white and the snow in the air is white liquid pearls and a tad of flower soft for good measure.

The card and the blue layers are made from pearl cardstock.  The patterned paper is from Papermania.

I am entering this card in the Winter Wonderland 'Cards for Men/Boys' challenge.

Christmas is coming!

What better way to keep busy than getting ahead on some Christmas cardmaking.  In the spirit of season, I made this card.

Sparkling Elf

I used Elfie from Polkadoodles Magical Winter CD by Nikky Hall.  She and the gifts are coloured in with Letraset Flex Markers and embellished with Stickles and Liquid Pearls.  The snowflakes are punched out of light blue glitter paper.

Perhaps I used a bit more 'bling' than I would normally put on a card, but once I got started I couldn't stop!

Girl in the Garden

It is the end of the weekend, and a busy one at that.  I can never believe how quickly the weekend flies by! At least I did get a chance to do a little bit of crafting in between the dishes and the laundry and tidying up etc. etc.

This card was inspired by the Polkadoodles weekly challenge.  The image came from the Double Sprinkles of Kraft CD and it is coloured with pro markers.  I used a Crafter's Companion embossing board to make the flower layers on some satin card and patterned cardstock.  The flowers at the bottom were made by colouring 250 gsm paper with pro markers, cutting out the petals with a tonic flower punch, and assembling them with hot glue.

I don't tend to do much crafting with 'people' on my cards, but I have to say, this little gal won me over.
