Versatile Bloggers Award

I have been honoured by a fellow crafter by being nominated by them for the Versatile Bloggers Award.  Thank you so very much to Dionne of Dee's Craft Room for her nomination as well as for all of the lovely comments she leaves on my blog.  I couldn't be more pleasantly surprised and humbled!  Wow.

This award comes with its rules (click here to read the rules in full) ..........

  • You should thank the person who gave you this award.
  • Include a link to their blog,
  • Select 15 blogs that you have either recently discovered or follow regularly,
  • Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award,
  • Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
"If you are nominated, you have been awarded the Versatile Blogger award".
My nominations for the Versatile Blogger Award are all people who inspire me with their amazing work.
In no particular order, they are:

Dee Paramour at An Artist's Ramblings by Faux Painter
Arline at Arline's Allsorts
Susan at Cratin' Suzie
Debra at Designs by DJ
Chris at Crafty Chris
Phil Martin at Phill's Crafty Place
Donna at Smiley Crafter
Viv's Visuals
Deanne at Three Trees
Nicola at Pink Delight Craft
Abbie at Powered by Fairy Dust
Jill at My Little Card Studio
Gina at Gina's Krafty Place
Suzie at Suzie McFloozy's Musings
Hazel at Hazel's Handmade Crafts

Now, I am supposed to tell Dionne 7 things about myself...hmmm....let's see.

1.  I can be overly critical of myself
2.  I have been making cards for just over a year
3.  I think I already own more crafting supplies than I will ever use (and I keep buying more)
4.  I am still finding my 'style' and am always trying new techniques (with various levels of success!)
5.  I love animals.  If I could, I would run a 'rescue / resort' for dogs and cats.  I have 2 dogs & 3 cats of my own
6.  I sometimes laugh so hard that I cry.  Really any strong emotion brings on the tears.
7.  I love to bake.

Right, so now I am off to all the bloggers I have nominated for the award to let them know.  I really can't thank Dionne enough.  Also, there are so many wonderful blogs that I follow it was difficult to chose only 15 so thank you to all those who share beautiful creations, tips, techniques, and kind words with the rest of the blogger world!

Take care and thanks again Dionne!

xx Denise

Crafty Boots Easter Challenge

Nothing says Spring or Easter to me more than BUNNIES!  In my opinion, Penny Black does some of the cutest bunnies there are...so I have used one of her stamps for my latest design team card for Crafty Boots Challenges where the theme is Easter.

Here's the card:

I don't have a ton of 'block' rubber stamps, but I had to get this one because I thought it was adorable.  The bunnies are colored with Pro Markers with a bit of distressing around the image layer using broken china Distress Ink.  I have had the flowered ribbon in my stash for ages and it seemed to fit in nicely with the overall card, as well as the paper flowers which were from Create and Craft.  You will also recognize the use of Grand Nesties, which I may be doing a little too often (but at least I have a few different sets so they are not always the same shape!)

Alrighty then, that's it for me as I have to finish a birthday card for my Nephew Gabe, who is turning 2 on the 23rd.  Luckily he is not older or else he would probably realize the card is probably going to be late since he is in America and I have not finished and / or mailed it yet..lol.

I will be sure to share it with you here when it is completed (which will be early tomorrow if I play my cards right).  In the meantime, make sure to check out Crafty Boots Challenges to see the beautiful projects from the other design team members and of course to link up your gorgeous Easter creations.

Thanks for looking and I hope you come back soon.

xx Denise
